SABC LAUNCHES 2011 MATRIC RESULTS SERVICE

SABC LAUNCHES 2011 MATRIC RESULTS SERVICE

Johannesburg, Wednesday, 09 November 2011 –The SABC’s news-on-phone service NewsBreak 082 152 has launched its popular annual matric results service.

After some uncertainty about the service, the SABC received the go-ahead from the Department of Basic Education to again make the matric results available via the NewsBreak sms and voice services.

Matriculants and their families can use the NewsBreak automated sms and voice results services to obtain their final exam results as soon as it is released by the Education Department in early January 2012.

All they have to do is to pre-register via sms and detailed results will be sent back to them on the day of release.

Students can immediately start to register by sending the word DBE (for Department of Basic Education exams) or IEB (for Independent Examination Board exams) followed by their ID number to 35935, at R3 per sms. They will receive a return SMS asking for an exam number, for them to receive their detailed results.

If students were not able to pre-register, they will also be able to call 082 152 on the day the results are released, select option 6, punch in their ID and exam numbers and the results will be relayed.

The NewsBreak Matric Results Service was launched in 1999 and has over the years grown to become the most popular results service in the country.

Calls to 082 152 are charged at Value Added Service rates.
