Artist Background

From humble beginnings Nyakallo Leine, popularly known as BA2CADA, began his career in 2004 at Johannesburg based community radio station, Jozi Fm, until he was head hunted by SABC’s Lesedi Fm in 2006 where he began his journey on the Afternoon Drive Time Show on Mondays to Friday between 15:00 and 18:00 and Saturdays on the Top 30 Count Down from 09:00 to 12:00.

Ba2cada fast enjoyed a huge following on Lesedi Fm and gained his claim to fame after receiving numerous awards for his work at the Station. His work ethic and abilities were further acknowledged between 2008 and 2013 when he was roped in as a judging panel member in the Kwaito Category of the South African Music Awards in those years concurrently.

A huge advocate for local music and talent in their genres, Ba2cada is an award-winning radio presenter who, for 2 consecutive years, received the Best Afternoon Radio Presenter award for the MTN Radio Awards in 2012 and 2013 respectively. He also received accolade from the Premier of the Free State, Ace Magashule, as “The Most Influential Young Person in The Province”.

In 2008, with the aim in mind of uplifting his community, Ba2Cada founded an annual Soccer Tournament called the Ba2Cada Games. The growth and development of the Games over the years have since seen young, gifted players from around South Africa playing in 1st Division as well as the Professional League.  Ba2cada is also owner of ABC Motsepe Soccer team called D’General FC which he co-owns with Bafana Bafana and Championship team player Brentford FC in England, Kamohelo Mokotjo.

They say that charity begins at home. Ba2cada, like many South Africans, heard the cry from millions of students across the country who led the “Fees Must Fall Campaign” he donated R10 000.00 to 4 Botshabelo Tertiary Students, and has committed to make a contribution annually to different tertiary institutions to assist students who are financially challenged.

Growing up, Ba2cada has always either wanted to be a professional soccer player or a Radio presenter, Mc’ng different shows at a young age.

The proudest moment was when I got an opportunity to be behind the microphone after being the only person chosen out of 824 hopefuls that went to auditions in 2004 at Jozi Fm, that was the beginning of good things to happen in my radio journey.

I am not a big fan of pets and have never owned one in my life. Ba2cada is a huge fan of anything local, especially local music.

I would really like to be remembered as someone who brought change to other peoples’ lives, played my role in encouraging others to go out there and get it as I live my life with that motto; “no one will make things for you, one has to go out and do it himself, no one owes you anything, but you owe everything to yourself”.
