It was not a normal Tsa Dipapadi show on Lesedi FM evening sports show as former players, supporters and family came in numbers to celebrate the life of a sporting icon and Bloemfontein Celtic’s life time president, Ntate Rantlai Petrus Molemela. M1 studio in Bloemfontein was the venue for this special occasion with Lesedi FM’s Tsolo Leokaoke as the host.
Masele supporters, as they are affectionately known and their Siwelele band, which included the popular Botha Msila and Sister Betina were among the people who packed the venue and shared their stories on how they lost a father figure in Ntate Molemela. Former Celtic players like David “Chippa” Sefali, Ishmael “Lilita” Mokitlane, Sandile Ndzimande, Revelation Setheisha, Mzwandile “Vice” Silungoa and “Never My Love” were among the people who attended the #90MinutesFor Molemela. Former coach Ntate Shuping, shared some of the memorable times he shared with the legend. Representatives from SAFA also present included Mzwandile Maforvane and SAFA FS Lifetime president, Obakeng Molatedi . FS Provincial Government sent Me Kutlwano Hlakudi to convey a message of condolences to the Molemela family and supporters. Bloemfontein Celtic PRO, Sello Nduma expressed how difficult it is for the club to deal with such a huge loss.
The deceased eldest son, Molemela Molemela thanked all and acknowledged the overwhelming support and well wishes they have been receiving. The memorial service will be held tomorrow, 31 March 2017 from 11:00 at St. John’s Methodist Church in Batho Location. Some streets will be closed to traffic. Those are, Loverday, Hamilton, Monyatsi and Ngaiya Streets.
