Read these competition rules carefully. These competition rules (“rules”) explain your rights and duties under this competition. If you take part in this competition or accept any prize, these rules will apply to you and you agree that the person running the competition (“the promoter/s”) can assume that you have read and agreed to be legally bound by these competition rules.

 

Competition Name: FNB eWallet Customer Stories
Promoter(s) Name(s): The promoter of this competition is FNB, a division of FirstRand Bank Limited with

Reg. No. 1929/001225/06 (“FNB”).

In these rules we refer to the above promoter(s) as “the promoter(s)” or “FNB”. We refer to participants and winners as “you”.

Entries open and close: Entries open on 18 February 2026 at 00:00 am

Entries close 27th February 2026 at 23:59 pm

All entries, fully completed as required, must be received by the promoter(s) before the closing dates.

The promoter(s) reserve the right to extend the competition. Notice of this will be posted in these rules.

What is the prize? Stand a chance to win up to 2 weekly prizes per radio station during the competition period:

1.      Prize 1: R5 000 (Five Thousand Rand)

·       Individuals (including non-banked individuals) stand a chance to win R5 000 in eWallet

2.      Prize 2: Further R5 000

·       Individuals who have won prize 1 stand a further chance to win an extra R5 000 if that individual has sent 2 or more eWallet sends during the competition period.

The prize will be paid via eWallet into the cellphone number used to submit the qualifying voice note or via EFT to a bank account in the name of the winner.

Winner/s announced on: Winners will be announced live on-air on Wednesdays and Fridays across the selected Radio stations:

·       Metro FM between 06:00-09:00

·       Ukhozi and Lesedi FM between 15:00-18:00

Please note: Whilst prize winners may be asked to take part in publicity for the Competition, prize winners have the right to refuse to do so. Your participation as a winner in the publicity campaign will be conducted once you provide the promoters with an unconditional, voluntary, specific, and informed consent for the promoters, either themselves or through their contractors and/or suppliers (“the promoter’s

Representatives”) to conduct the publicity campaign and to use (edit, exchange,

 

  store, disseminate, and disclose/publish) the publicity campaign for the purposes of the promoter’s Advertising at any time after the date of signature of that consent. You agree that the consent provided will be applicable on a worldwide basis and will extend to the use of the publicity campaign content in any format(s) and/or media which the promoters in their discretion may determine, including press releases, pictorial material, printed material, broadcast, video, audio, electronic, and digital mediums as well as social media channels.
Eligibility: Who qualifies to take part? Prize 1:

·       This competition is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who live in the Republic of South Africa. The individuals must hold a valid South African ID or a valid passport.

Prize 2:

·        Only individuals who have won Prize 1 will qualify for Prize 2; and

·       Only FNB customers who have sent two or more eWallet sends between 16 February 2026 and the day the participant sends their voice note to the radio station, are eligible for the double prize.

Who cannot take part? The following persons may not take part in this competition even if they qualify to take part. They will forfeit (give up) any prizes awarded to them:

a)      Any employee of the promoter(s).

b)      Any director, member, partner, agent of, or consultant of the promoter(s).

c)      Any other person who is directly or indirectly controls the promoter(s).

d)      Any supplier of goods and services in connection with this competition.

e)     The spouse, life partner, siblings, children, or parents of any of the persons named in a, b, c, or d, above.

However, even if the aforesaid disqualified persons participate in the competition or is subsequently disqualified, these competition rules will continue to apply between the disqualified persons and FNB.

How to enter? Prize 1: R5 000:

 

1.      Participants must submit a voice note short story (10–30 seconds) about their eWallet experience to the relevant radio station FNB WhatsApp bot to enter the competition.

2.      Anyone can win the R5 000 prize for the best story, regardless of whether they have sent eWallets.

3.      Participants or listeners must send their stories as per below

·

·       Week 1 – Wednesday 18th February after 15h00 till Thursday 19 February at 12h00 for the Friday winner

·       Week 2 – Friday 20 February from 12h00 till 27th February at 12h00

·        Week 3 – 27th February at 15h00 till Tuesday 3 March at 12h00

 

  Prize 2: Further R5 000:

 

1.      To qualify for the further R5 000 prize, the winner of prize 1, must have sent two or more eWallet sends between 16 February 2026 and the day the participant sends their voice note to the radio station.

2.      Only the winner of the R5 000 prize is eligible for the double prize; there is no separate draw for the double prize.

3.      eWallet sends can be of any amount up to R10 000 (Ten Thousand Rands)

4.      If the winner cannot be verified as having sent two or more eWallet, they will only receive the R5 000 prize.

 

General for both Prizes:

 

1.      The double prize is not paid instantly and will only be awarded once verification is complete.

2.      Participants may not submit fraudulent or third-party screenshots. Only their own eWallet sends will be considered, and FNB will verify authenticity.

 

 

Rule Amendments

•        These Rules cannot be modified or superseded except by us, in our reasonable discretion, in a written revision to these rules.

•        FNB reserves the right to amend, modify, supplement these Competition rules or extend the competition from time to time where reasonably necessary, including for legal, technical, operational or commercial reasons, provided that no such amendment will materially prejudice any Participant.

•        Participants are responsible for familiarising themselves with the Competition Rules, which will be made available in digital format and accessible without charge via the Promoter’s official website, mobile application, or other digital platform through which the Competition is conducted.

•        Non-material amendments, including clarifications, platform-related adjustments, administrative updates or corrections, shall become effective upon publication on the relevant digital platform and may be indicated by an updated version date.

•        Any amendment that is reasonably regarded as material, meaning an amendment that affects eligibility requirements, the nature or value of prizes, the manner of entry or participation, the competition closing date, or the selection of winners, will be communicated to Participants through reasonable and appropriate digital notice prior to implementation.

•        Digital notice of a material amendment may include one or more of the following, as determined by the Promoter:

•        prominent notice on the competition landing page or entry interface.

•        in-app notifications.

•        (c) electronic communication to Participants using the contact details provided for purposes of the Competition; or

•        any other digital communication method reasonably calculated to bring the amendment to the attention of Participants

•        Where a material amendment is required as a result of changes in law, regulatory direction, system failure, security risk or circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter will take all reasonable steps to implement such amendment fairly, transparently and in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

 

Is there a limit on the number of times you can enter? Entries will be limited to one entry per individual across all participating radio stations. An Individual will accordingly only be able to enter one voice note in total during the competition period.
How will winner(s) be chosen? The radio stations will select the best story at their discretion The winner and back up winner selections will take place for:

·        Week 1 –17th February at 12h00 for the Wednesday winner

·        Week 1 – Thursday 19 February at 12h00 for the Friday winner

·       Week 2 – Tuesday 24 February at 12h00 for both Wednesday and Friday winners

·       Week 3 – Tuesday 3 March at 12h00 for both Wednesday and Friday winners

 

Primary winners will be confirmed and if uncontactable after 3 attempts, a back-up winner will be contacted.

How will winner(s) names be announced? Please note: On air during the competition moment on air.

The winners will not be announced on the day, prior vetting will be done prior.

Fulfilment of prize(s)  

The prize will be fulfilled within 6 weeks after following the winner announcement

General Rules

 

  • FNB must receive your entry before the published closing date and FNB must also receive your entry in the correct format. You will lose the right to take part or claim any prize that may have been awarded to you if you don’t enter on time or in the correct format.

else. If you don’t claim your prize on time, you will lose your right to any prize.

  • If you are in breach of these rules, you will be disqualified and you will lose your right to any prize(s).

 

  • You may not sell the prize or give it to someone else. You may not swap the prize for cash or for a different
